Biography
Lorenzo Di Giosaffatte (Rome, 1996) is an Italian conductor currently based in Paris.
In 2023, he launched his international career by winning First Prize at the 7th Atlantic Coast International Conducting Competition in Porto, where he conducted Brahms’ Symphony No. 1. In June 2025, he made his debut in Japan at the Toyama International Contemporary Music Festival, where he will return for the 2026 edition.
Since 2018, he has conducted numerous orchestras in Italy and abroad, including the Orchestra dell’Istituzione Sinfonica Abruzzese, Orchestra “I Musici” di Parma, Romae Philarmonia Orchestra, Toscana Classica Orchestra, Dresden Sinfonietta (Germany), Danubia Symphony Orchestra (Budapest), Kecskemét Symphony Orchestra (Hungary), Orquesta da Costa Atlântica (Porto), Siamo Orkest (The Hague), and the Denver Philharmonic Orchestra (United States). His repertoire spans both the symphonic and operatic fields.
Lorenzo Di Giosaffatte (Roma, 1996) è un direttore d’orchestra italiano attualmente residente a Parigi.
Nel 2023 avvia la sua carriera internazionale vincendo il Primo Premio al VII Atlantic Coast International Conducting Competition di Porto, dove dirige la Sinfonia n. 1 di Brahms. Nel giugno 2025 debutta in Giappone nell’ambito del Toyama International Contemporary Music Festival, dove tornerà per l’edizione 2026.
Dal 2018 ha diretto numerose orchestre in Italia e all’estero, tra cui l’Orchestra dell’Istituzione Sinfonica Abruzzese, l’Orchestra “I Musici” di Parma, la Romae Philarmonia Orchestra, la Toscana Classica Orchestra, la Dresden Sinfonietta (Germania), la Danubia Symphony Orchestra (Budapest), la Kecskemét Symphony Orchestra (Ungheria), l’Orquesta da Costa Atlântica (Porto), il Siamo Orkest (L’Aia) e la Denver Philharmonic Orchestra (Stati Uniti). Il suo repertorio abbraccia sia il campo sinfonico sia quello operistico.

Son répertoire couvre aussi bien le domaine symphonique que lyrique.
He furthered his training with Maestro Jorma Panula in the Netherlands and Hungary, and in the summer of 2023 he attended the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena under the guidance of Maestro Daniele Gatti. He is currently continuing his work on the French repertoire with Julien Masmondet and Lionel Snow.
He graduated in orchestral conducting from the State Conservatory “Alfredo Casella” in L’Aquila in 2021, studying with Marcello Bufalini, and received the highest honors. He then completed a second-level master’s degree with distinction, presenting a thesis devoted to the aesthetics of Mahler’s Lieder and conducting the Rückert-Lieder. During his studies, he also specialized in opera and lyric theatre.
Alongside his musical training, he earned a master’s degree in economics and management of cultural enterprises at the Treccani Accademia. From 2022 to 2024, he was founder and artistic director of the Società Filarmonica Dioniso, where he designed and organized symphonic and chamber music seasons while maintaining a strong focus on contemporary creation.
His training also includes piano studies with Svetlana Pekarskaja in Rome, as well as composition studies with Fabio Massimo Capogrosso, Claudio Perugini, and Mauro Cardi in L’Aquila.
Si è perfezionato con il Maestro Jorma Panula nei Paesi Bassi e in Ungheria e, nell’estate 2023, ha partecipato all’Accademia Musicale Chigiana di Siena sotto la guida del Maestro Daniele Gatti. Attualmente prosegue il lavoro sul repertorio francese con Julien Masmondet e Lionel Sow.
Diplomato in direzione d’orchestra presso il Conservatorio Statale “Alfredo Casella” dell’Aquila nel 2021 nella classe di Marcello Bufalini, ha conseguito il titolo con il massimo dei voti e la lode. Successivamente ha completato un biennio specialistico con menzione d’onore, presentando una tesi dedicata all’estetica dei Lieder di Mahler e dirigendo i Rückert-Lieder. Durante gli studi si è inoltre specializzato nel teatro lirico.
Parallelamente alla formazione musicale, ha conseguito un master in economia e management delle imprese culturali presso la Treccani Accademia. Dal 2022 al 2024 è stato fondatore e direttore artistico della Società Filarmonica Dioniso, dove ha ideato e organizzato stagioni sinfoniche e cameristiche, mantenendo una costante attenzione alla creazione contemporanea.
La sua formazione comprende anche studi di pianoforte con Svetlana Pekarskaja a Roma e studi di composizione con Fabio Massimo Capogrosso, Claudio Perugini e Mauro Cardi all’Aquila.
Il s’est perfectionné auprès du Maestro Jorma Panula aux Pays-Bas et en Hongrie, puis a participé à l’Accademia Musicale Chigiana de Sienne à l’été 2023 sous la direction du Maestro Daniele Gatti. Il poursuit actuellement son travail sur le répertoire français avec Julien Masmondet et Lionel Snow.

De 2022 à 2024, il est fondateur et directeur artistique de la Società Filarmonica Dioniso, où il conçoit et organise des saisons de concerts symphoniques et de musique de chambre, tout en restant attentif à la création contemporaine.
Sa formation comprend également des études de piano auprès de Svetlana Pekarskaja à Rome ainsi que des études de composition avec Fabio Massimo Capogrosso, Claudio Perugini et Mauro Cardi à L’Aquila.
