Biography
Born in 1996 in Rome, Lorenzo Di Giosaffatte is an Italian conductor currently based in Paris.
In 2023, he made his international debut by winning the First Prize at the VII Atlantic Coast International Conducting Competition in Porto, conducting Brahms’ Symphony No. 1. He has also been a semifinalist in significant competitions for young orchestral conductors, including the International Call for Conductors in Budapest, the International Orchestra Conducting Competition on Modern and Contemporary Repertoire ‘Città di Brescia – Giancarlo Facchinetti’, IV edition, and the International Competition ‘Peter Maag’ for young orchestral conductors with the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto.
Lorenzo Di Giosaffatte will make his debut in Japan in June 2025 at the Toyama International Contemporary Music Festival, conducting two evenings dedicated to international contemporary composers with world premiere pieces.
Since 2018, at the age of only 22, he has successfully debuted in Italy and abroad, conducting numerous orchestras such as the Orchestra dell’Istituzione Sinfonica Abruzzese, the Orchestra ‘I Musici’ di Parma, the Romae Philarmonia Orchestra, the Toscana Classica Orchestra in Italy, as well as the Dresden Sinfonietta in Germany, the Danubia Symphony Orchestra in Budapest, the Kecskémet Symphony Orchestra in Hungary, the Orquesta da Costa Atlântica in Porto, Portugal, the Siamo Orkest in The Hague, Netherlands, and the Denver Philharmonic Orchestra in the United States. During these performances, he has conducted a wide repertoire of symphonic and operatic works.
Nato nel 1996 a Roma, Lorenzo Di Giosaffatte è un direttore d'orchestra italiano attualmente residente a Parigi.
Nel 2023 ha fatto il suo debutto internazionale vincendo il Primo Premio al VII Concorso Internazionale di Direzione d'Orchestra Atlantic Coast a Porto, dirigendo la Sinfonia n. 1 di Brahms. È stato inoltre semifinalista in importanti concorsi per giovani direttori d'orchestra, tra cui l’International Call for Conductors di Budapest, il Concorso Internazionale di Direzione d’Orchestra sul Repertorio Moderno e Contemporaneo “Città di Brescia – Giancarlo Facchinetti” (IV edizione) e il Concorso Internazionale “Peter Maag” per giovani direttori d’orchestra con l’Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto.
Lorenzo Di Giosaffatte debutterà in Giappone nel giugno 2025 al Toyama International Contemporary Music Festival, dirigendo due serate dedicate a compositori contemporanei internazionali con brani in prima esecuzione assoluta.

He has honed his craft with Maestro Jorma Panula, studying in the Netherlands and Hungary, and participated in the renowned Accademia Chigiana in Siena in July and August 2023 with Maestri Daniele Gatti and Luciano Acocella, with whom he later delved into Beethoven’s symphonic repertoire in Florence.
Lorenzo Di Giosaffatte graduated in Orchestra Conducting in 2021 from the State Conservatory of Music ‘Alfredo Casella’ in L’Aquila under the guidance of Maestro Marcello Bufalini with the highest honors and praise. He completed his master’s studies in 2022, obtaining a second-level Biennium Degree with honors, discussing a thesis on the aesthetics of Mahler’s lieder and performing the Mahler’s Rückert Lieder. During his conservatory years, he also specialized in opera theater, attending the Orchestra Conducting course ‘Operando’ under the guidance of Maestri Francesco Lanzillotta and Bruno Taddia.
In addition to his academic studies, he has participated in numerous Masterclasses worldwide (United States, Netherlands, Germany, Portugal, and Italy) with renowned orchestral conductors, including Daniele Agiman, Neil Thomson, Luis Miguel Clemente, Fabrizio Ventura, Vladimir Kiradjiev, Lawrence Golan, and Diane Wittry.
He earned a master’s degree in economics and management of cultural enterprises from the Treccani Accademia. Since 2022, he has been the artistic director and founder of the Società Filarmonica Dioniso, organizing symphonic and chamber concerts that also include works by contemporary composers. In February 2023, he conducted the world premiere of the concerto for guitar and orchestra by Maestro Fabio Renato d’Ettorre, with soloist Maestro Gian Marco Ciampa.
He received piano training from Maestra Svetlana Pekarskaja in Rome and studied composition with Maestri Fabio Massimo Capogrosso, Claudio Perugini, and Mauro Cardi in L’Aquila.
Si è perfezionato con il Maestro Jorma Panula, studiando nei Paesi Bassi e in Ungheria, e ha partecipato nei mesi di luglio e agosto 2023 alla prestigiosa Accademia Chigiana di Siena con i Maestri Daniele Gatti e Luciano Acocella, con i quali ha successivamente approfondito il repertorio sinfonico di Beethoven a Firenze.
Lorenzo Di Giosaffatte si è diplomato in Direzione d’Orchestra nel 2021 presso il Conservatorio Statale di Musica Alfredo Casella de L’Aquila, sotto la guida del Maestro Marcello Bufalini, con il massimo dei voti e la lode. Ha completato gli studi di biennio di secondo livello nel 2022, conseguendo il titolo con lode e discutendo una tesi sull’estetica dei Lieder di Mahler ed eseguendo i Rückert-Lieder di Mahler. Durante gli anni di conservatorio si è inoltre specializzato nel teatro d'opera, frequentando il corso di Direzione d’Orchestra Operando sotto la guida dei Maestri Francesco Lanzillotta e Bruno Taddia.
Oltre al percorso accademico, ha partecipato a numerose masterclass in tutto il mondo (Stati Uniti, Paesi Bassi, Germania, Portogallo e Italia) con direttori d'orchestra di fama internazionale, tra cui Daniele Agiman, Neil Thomson, Luis Miguel Clemente, Fabrizio Ventura, Vladimir Kiradjiev, Lawrence Golan e Diane Wittry.
Ha inoltre conseguito un Master in Economia e Gestione delle Imprese Culturali presso l’Accademia Treccani. Dal 2022 è direttore artistico e fondatore della Società Filarmonica Dioniso, con cui organizza concerti sinfonici e di musica da camera, includendo anche opere di compositori contemporanei. Nel febbraio 2023 ha diretto la prima esecuzione assoluta del Concerto per chitarra e orchestra del Maestro Fabio Renato d’Ettorre, con il solista Maestro Gian Marco Ciampa.
Ha ricevuto una formazione pianistica dalla Maestra Svetlana Pekarskaja a Roma e ha studiato composizione con i Maestri Fabio Massimo Capogrosso, Claudio Perugini e Mauro Cardi a L’Aquila.
